Author: Luxury Estate Turkey Viewed 2030 times 22 March 2025

Owning property in Turkey comes with certain responsibilities, including the payment of annual property tax (Emlak Vergisi). If you own property in Alanya, it is essential to understand the tax payment process to avoid penalties and ensure compliance with local regulations.

How to Pay Property Tax in Turkey

Property tax payments can be made through multiple convenient methods:

1. In-Person Payment at the Municipality

If you prefer to pay your property tax in person, visit the city or district municipality with the following documents:

  • Your Title Deed (TAPU)

  • Your passport (a residence permit is not required)

At the municipality, the staff will inform you about your tax amount and guide you through the payment process. One of the locations where you can make your payment is the new Alanya Municipality building:

2. Online Payment via E-Devlet

For a hassle-free experience, you can pay your property tax online through the E-Devlet system. Simply log in, search for the relevant municipality service, and complete the payment securely. This option is particularly useful for property owners who are not currently in Turkey.

3. Bank Transfer or Postal Check

Some municipalities allow property tax payments via bank transfer or postal check, making it easier for international property owners to fulfill their obligations remotely.

4. Municipality Cash Desks

Additionally, cash desks at municipal service buildings accept tax payments. The newly established Alanya Municipality building provides this service to ensure easy transactions for local residents and property owners.
