Turkish law provides several ways to obtain citizenship. Every year, the number of people who have obtained Turkish citizenship is increasing. If a foreigner has been married to a Turkish citizen for more than 3 years or lived in the country with a tourist ikamet for more than 8 years, he can become a resident of the country. Another way to obtain citizenship in Turkey is investments. This procedure was simplified for foreigners a few years ago.

Turkey is a promising, developed country to live in. Many people want to have a cozy apartment on the beach in Turkey. Someone wants to buy a villa in Turkey, someone wants to live in an apartment with an exciting view. If the owner has two or more apartments in Antalya, he can rent out them for extra income. Antalya, Alanya, Fethiye, Bodrum are the most popular cities as permanent residence or summer residence. These are the cities with the largest number of foreigners. If you have your own house in Turkey, you can enjoy a sea vacation every day. Owning real estate also gives the right to obtain Turkish citizenship.

Turkey is a country that encourages investors. According to the program on investment immigration, you have the right to become a Turkish citizen under the following conditions:

- The value of the property must be $400,000 or more. Real estate can be purchased in any currency. For example, one villa or several apartments can be purchased for the specified value. The main thing is that the amount must be equal to or higher than $400,000.

- You can’t sell real estate within 3 years of obtaining citizenship, but the property can be rented out.

The procedure for obtaining citizenship in Turkey is simple.

Before traveling to Turkey, it is recommended to find out the current list of documents for citizenship through the Immigration Department website, put the necessary apostils, if necessary. Documents must be translated to the Turkish language by an accredited translator. The translations must be certified by a notary. All documents must be submitted to the Immigration Department. Then all the documents will be sent to Ankara for further consideration. As practice shows, obtaining Turkish citizenship takes from 6 months till 1 year. Also, you don’t need to know Turkish in your interview for citizenship.

Advantages of Turkish citizenship include visa-free travel to over 100 countries, the opportunity to apply for citizenship for future children, the right to free education.

You can make a power of attorney to apply for citizenship. The cost of services for citizenship by proxy may be more expensive, but it will minimize the risk of error.
